Checking In and Catching Up
Hi friends. Sorry to have neglected this place for so long. Spring comes with so many distractions, doesn’t it?
So this post will have no real theme, and a lot of less than ideal iphone pictures, but I wanted to check in and let you know what I’ve been up to.
Earlier this month I traveled to Florida to spend a relaxing week with my parents, including Mother’s Day, when this picture was taken.
My mom and dad’s house is full of inspiration. My mom has a great eye. Here’s a little sample for you.
We did some antiquing in Mount Dora while I was there.
Not surprisingly, being in Florida, there were a ton of great outdoor and garden items.
I would have loved to bring home a couple of these guys, but it was not very practical.
Speaking of not practical, I fell in love this antique painting, but at $1200 I also had to leave it behind.
I did pick up this blue and white jar. It took up my whole carry-on bag coming home, but it was worth it.
The day after I got back, this kid came home from a semester in Rome.
So happy to have the family back together again.
Any anything I’ve done around the house has been outside. I bought two of these Nantucket Blue Hydrangeas to put in pots on the patio. So far they have not disappointed.
And this lavender plant is starting to bloom in its estate sale pot.
I hope your Spring has been full of happy distractions.
P.S. In between posts you’ll find me on Instagram and Facebook.
You have had as very busy spring. We have lots of graduations, proms and ball games so busy for us also. Love hydrangeas . One of my favorite flowers. They look great in planters. Isn’t it wonderful to have your children home after they have been away for a while. you look so much like your beautiful mother. How great that you could spend Mothers day with her. Have a great time with your family.
Graduations, proms and ball games = all good things, Yarlette. Enjoy your family as well!
Your family is positively darling. Bet you were relieved to have your son home. Looks like you enjoyed a great time with your Mom. Have a great weekend.
Well, you know a thing or two about darling families, Katie. Thank you.
What a pleasant surprise to find your update! Thanks for checking in.
Thanks for your nice comment, Linda. 🙂
Julie, what a wonderful collection of photos…especially your family! That blue and white jar is gorgeous…definitely worth the entire carry-on bag. Wish our hydrangeas looked as good as yours! ~Jillian
PS – The photo of the garden statuary made me think of Charleston Gardens…a site I only came across recently when doing some online searching for pots. They have some lovely things.
Thank you for the recommendation, Jillian. I will definitely check that site out.
