Shopping in Cole Camp, Missouri

Our route from Kansas City to Lake of the Ozarks takes us through Cole Camp, MO, a German town of about 1200. We are always struck by how charming the town is and we have stopped there a time or two, but we’re normally in too big of a hurry to get to the lake or to get back home to stop.

Last weekend Tom and I headed to the lake on a rainy Friday afternoon with nothing but time on our hands, so we made a stop for some shopping in Cole Camp. Here are some pictures I took if you’re interested.

P.S. Christmas in Rome and Mary Carol Garrity’s lake house.

We used to stop in Cole Camp all the time. The German restaurant was a favorite, but we usually stopped at the little roadside place on Hwy. 52 not far from there for plate-sized pork tenderloin sandwiches back in the day when I could still eat them without guilt.

    1. Yes! The Dairy Bar. We’ve never stopped there but there’s always a crowd there eating when we go by.

  2. I’m so glad you stopped and posted about it…love the small colorful towns for a virtual visit.
