Eating, Reading, Wearing

I recently made Dinner: A Love Story’s Pretzel Chicken with Honey Mustard Sauce and we loved it so much that we’ve had it weekly ever since. I make the chicken with just the panko crumbs and not the pretzels, and I air-fry the chicken in my Easy Bake Oven/air fryer rather than make it on the stovetop. It’s still delicious. That’s because the genius of this dish is in the honey mustard sauce. And the whole thing is so easy. You just pile the chicken on some spring mix, and the sauce becomes the dressing for the whole dish.

I mentioned in a Friday post that Bruno, Chief of Police, sounded interesting, and I flew through it while we were in Miami. The setting—rural France—is such an unexpected place for a murder mystery, and I loved the lifestyle and culinary aspects of the book (Bruno’s a foodie). There are currently 17 books in this series (this one was the first). I found this article about the author, Martin Walker, and the real-life village and police chief who inspired the fictional ones in case you’re interested.

I splurged on a pair of these Pima cotton pajamas from The Company Store a couple of months back, and I reach for them every chance I get. Tom calls them my “daytime pajamas” because I wear them around the house so much (they’ve been a godsend during this three-week(!) bout of bronchitis I’ve been battling). They’re super soft, and I love the classic blue and white stripe. Plus, pockets!

I love the Bruno series and often take notes on Bruno’s recipes so I can try them for myself.
