End of Summer Tablesetting
We hosted our dinner club group in August (four couples, all great friends, always a lot of fun) and after the date was already set, I got an innocent looking email from the Today show and very quickly everything got very crazy.
Dinner club happened the night before my daughter Lindsey and I left for NY, and because I was busy trying to figure out how to not embarrass myself on live national TV, I didn’t have a lot of time to devote to dinner club.
Luckily my very supportive friends and my husband did the cooking for me and all I really had to do was do some grocery shopping and put together the table.
I pressed a lot of old favorites from Homegoods into service. The white plates and paisley Ralph Lauren Home tablecloth came from Homegoods. So did the clear bowl used as a vase. In fact, when I saw the bowl at HG, I bought it just because I could picture it filled with white flowers exactly like this.
The cloth napkins are Martha Stewart and I found them new in the package at a garage sale.
The only new things on the table were the wicker trays/placemats, which came from Nell Hill’s.
If you’re not from KC and are ever in the area, try to make some time for either the Nell Hill’s Briarwood shop in North KC or the original Atchison, KS shop, just an hour or so north. You won’t be sorry.
Lovely table…the simplicity makes it so elegant.
I like those wicker placemats. I love paisley- your table looks wonderful. The sand with the candles looks so inviting- soft and earthy.
Thank you, ladies. 🙂
