Estate Sale Linens and Some Weekend Links
A while back I mentioned that I had fallen in love with hemstitch linens. Now that they’re on my radar, I notice them everywhere.
Pottery Barn carries them. So does Restoration Hardware, Ballard Designs, and even Nieman Marcus.
But hemstitch linens are a classic, which means I often see them at estate sales too. Yesterday I made a quick stop into an estate sale and ran across two hemstitch runners in great neutral colors, a set of white hemstitch napkins, and a small, square tablecloth in an aqua color so pretty I couldn’t leave it behind.
And while they’re not hemstitch I also fell for these brown and white checked napkins and something called a bun holder, which I suppose is used to keep rolls warm on the table. I can’t wait to try it out.
We’ve got a busy weekend ahead, including my son, Grant’s, senior prom and the last sorority mom’s weekend for Lindsey and me. Lots of milestones.
I hope you have some fun things planned too. If you have a spare moment or two, here are links to some things I’ve bookmarked recently:
Wrapping a gift card to make it extra special.
7 unexpected places to hang art.
A behind the scenes look at Pottery Barn catalog shoots. (So interesting!)
Whatever your weekend holds, have a wonderful one. I’ll be back early next week with some before and after pictures of the office makeover that is finally done.
I have three hem stitched tablecloths inherited from my grandmother, so they are probably about 75 years old. One is white, one is white with wide pale yellow banding, and one is white with wide pale blue banding. They are probably my most cherished items, and used for only the most special occasions. They are also small, so they only work on a small table. But oh, how I love them.
Sherri, those sound lovely. I can only imagine how special they are to you.
Thank you so much for the generous shout out on my gift card post! I can tell what a loyal following you have from the visits to my blog!
All the best
