Fall Favorites
Last Thursday was the first day of fall, so all of us who call that our favorite season can stop sneaking mums and pumpkins into the house and enjoy the fact that fall is officially here. To celebrate, I’m indulging in pictures of some of my favorite things about the season.
I love blue and white almost as much as I love fall, and blue and white looks especially great when paired with autumn colors.
Of course brown transferware is perfect for fall too and little pumpkins look great anywhere and everywhere.
I started an accidental plaid blanket collection when I found this red wool blanket at an estate sale.
And then I added this blue one from London.
Perfect for sitting by the fire pit, football games, even picnics. Everything about plaid blankets screams fall, don’t you think?
I’ve already made a batch of these pumpkin bars for a tailgate this fall.
This Apple Cider Sangria is a fall staple at our house.
We’re getting ready to have a few trees planted in the back yard and have decided to make a couple of them Maples like this one in our front yard. The fall color is gorgeous!
I love traveling in the fall and looking back at pictures from trips takes me right back. It seems we’re often in Chicago in the fall.
And Georgetown in Washington, DC could not have been lovelier than on this fall trip.
I always buy a new candle each fall. Pickwick & Co. makes great ones.
The fall tour of Mary Carol Garrity’s home still provides oodles of inspiration three years later (part 1, part 2).
Finally, I’ve moved my Fall Pinterest Board to the top of my Pinterest page. I’m pinning fall recipes, decorating, table settings, inspiring pictures…anything at all having to do with fall. I love having it all in one place.
How are you welcoming fall?
Julie, I just love Fall and all your pretty photos are so inspiring. We love living in Southern CA, but I must admit around now I long for cool, crisp fall weather. I have several pumpkins outside our front entry right now, and I fear they could start to bake!
I feel your pain. Our cool temps only arrived on Sunday. I hope you get a little taste of fall soon.
Just wanted to add that I’m so pleased you made the pumpkin bars again!
They are so good, Jillian!
Love hearing from you. Don’t be a stranger this fall and holiday season.
Like you, I love blue and white! It works in every season and with every color no matter how simple or formal the decor. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
I agree, Linda! I think of blue and white as almost a neutral now. It works everywhere.
Great pics!! Blue and white looks so great with fall colors. Have a good week!
You too, Katie!
