Ingredients For A Soulful House: Books

By far the most popular post on this blog (thank you Pinterest) is What Gives a House Soul? In it, I talk about those things that take a house beyond decorating and inject it with life. To me, those things are art, books, photos, plants and flowers, and putting everyday items on display.

Because it’s such a popular post (and one of my favorite topics too) I thought it would be interesting to do a series of follow-up posts where we could look at each of those things more closely. So let’s kick that off today, with one of my favorite elements of a soulful house: books.

The pictures in this post are examples of my favorite kind of bookshelves: unstyled or at least casually styled, with photos, travel souvenirs, or other objects tucked in among the books.

Enough words, onto the pictures…

P.S. More soulful spaces and dining rooms as libraries.

    Thanks!

    1. I agree, Mimi. Even though I read mostly on a Kindle these days, I still love to be surrounded by books.
