Life Lately

Does it feel like the world is opening back up where you are? That’s how we’re feeling. Springtime is here, we’ve been vaccinated (and so have most of our friends and family) and we’ve been getting back into life a bit. We’re still masking up in public and gathering outside whenever we can, but we’re definitely out and about a lot more these days.

All of that to say that I’ve been living life more than documenting it lately, which is why things have been so quiet here. So I looked through my iPhone pics to see if I could recreate some of what we’ve been up to.

We all went to the lake to watch March Madness. Our future son-in-law Morgan set things up so that we he didn’t miss any of the games.

The weather was chilly but sunny, so we were able to get in some deck time.

We were able to have Easter dinner with my parents. The weather was perfect so we left the doors wide open.

These two came over later.

Our favorite deviled eggs. I mix the yolks of a dozen hard-boiled eggs with 6 Tablespoons of Miracle Whip (not mayo…trust me on this), 1 Tablespoon of mustard, 1 Tablespoon of sugar, and a dash of salt.

Tom and I watched this four-part Netflix documentary about the 1990 art heist from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. We thought it was great. Here’s the trailer if you’re interested.

Last weekend Grant was in Chicago visiting a bunch of his college friends and my nephew who also lives there. He timed his visit to be there when my niece would also be there. They’re all taunting me with pictures like this.

Lindsey and I went for pedicures on Saturday. She chose this OPI color and it was so pretty that I snapped a pic to remember it.

Afterwards we had brunch at a new-ish restaurant (Va Bene in Corinth Square if you’re local).

My Bloody Mary was fantastic. The food was good too and I really wanted to slip those plates in my bag.

What’s new in your world? I’d love to hear. I’ll be back soon with an Amazon purchases post.

P.S. Prime purchases and lake house bedding.

  1. Love reading your life lately. Happy you could get together at the lake house for Easter (cute tabletop and the deviled eggs sound terrific with just that spoonful of sugar!). BM is my favorite adult libation, and that one (or two) could’ve been my meal – yumm! That Netflix docu series trailer looks good, may check that out. And that coral color is my signature color for spring through fall, but with YSL #4 or Essie’s #220. Love it! That OPI # is duly noted, thanks!
We’ve been fully vaccinated since mid-Feb, and now my only concern is whether it’ll last into fall or later! Hope so.
Hope you fully enjoy your spring, Julie and the lake house. Looking forward to reading more about it as it’s lived in.
