Links for Your Weekend

Happy Friday! I hope your week was a good one and that you have something fun or relaxing planned for the weekend.

On Fridays, I sometimes like to share interesting or entertaining things I’ve found from around the web (although it’s been a while since I’ve done that…my apologies). Here’s what I saved to share with you here.

Note: This post contains Amazon affiliate links, which means if you click on a link and make a purchase, I will receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. More details are here if you’re interested.

I love how cozy and inviting this Laguna Beach house is. To me it’s a proof that spaces don’t have to be large or formal to be elegant. I’ve saved the design portfolio to use as inspiration for our lake place.

Tessa and her family have such a lovely, relaxed way of traveling. She wrote a trip report on their recent visit to Nantucket, a place they visit often.

Here are the best selling books of 2021 (so far). Have you read any of them?

We got my mother-in-law this jigsaw puzzle greeting card for her birthday. It comes in several other designs as well.

If you’re interested in a little virtual travel The Pioneer Woman is in Vail, Colorado and Jen Hatmaker is in Bar Harbor, Maine and they’re each sharing their travels on their IG accounts. I love how entertaining and self-deprecating their posts are.

I did a big update on my Amazon Shop, which is stocked with the things I’ve bought and can recommend. There are categories for House & Home, Kitchen & Tabletop, Cleaning Products, Health & Beauty, Books, and Travel. I also created a section just of things I’ve bought for the lake place.

Finally, as I shared on Instagram, my father recently received a very serious health diagnosis and our family has been reeling a bit since. Today is his birthday and if you would be able to send up a prayer or good thought on his behalf we’d be most grateful. As we all know, life isn’t always as happy or easy as it appears in blogs or on social media and I think it’s important to acknowledge that. If you are also navigating something difficult right now, whatever that might be, know that I am sending you a lot of love.

P.S. My favorite books of 2020 and Nell Hills Trip.

  1. So sorry to hear about your dad. My thoughts are with you.
I struggled finding books I could enjoy during the pandemic, but I did read Four Winds. I just finished The Plot, which was very engaging, and now I’m reading The Vanishing Half for my book group. Have a good weekend!

  2. I’ll certainly include your Dad in my prayers, Julie. My sister’s husband passed away suddenly last month and it certainly sent shock waves through our family. He was a part of our family for almost 58 yrs. Off to check out your Amazon store and the Laguna Beach design. Have a good weekend.

    1. I am so sorry for the loss of your brother-in-law, Rita. It makes you realize how every day is precious.
