I was tired of flimsy ornament hangers so I upgraded to these. They come in different colors (I went with gold) and they place the ornaments close to the branch, which I think makes for easier tree decorating.
It was fun to see Kansas City on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the best places in the US to go in 2023. (Here is the Creating This Life Kansas City Guide with my favorite places to eat, shop and stay in my hometown.)
I’m starting to plan our Christmas table and I think I’ll do something very similar to last year, which I loved but was so easy. All of the greens down the center came from Trader Joe’s, the pinecones I had on hand, and I bought the brass taper candleholders off of Etsy (but here’s a good option on Amazon too). I also added some mercury glass votives because I can never get enough candlelight.
