My Favorite Amazon Purchases of 2021
Hello, friends, and happy new year. I hope this post finds you safe and well.
I thought I’d start the blogging year with a look back at 2021’s Amazon purchases. Like you I’ll bet, I use Amazon a lot. I shared posts through the year with what I was ordering but here, in no particular order, are my favorites purchases. The things I use regularly and have been the most pleased with.
Note: This post contains Amazon affiliate links, which means if you click on a link and make a purchase, I will receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. More details are here if you’re interested.
2021 was the year of the vacuum for me, starting with this Shark robot vacuum. It took me a while to get used to the randomness of a robot vacuum but I love watching it work while I’m doing something else and seeing all it has picked up when I go to empty it.
I also became a BIG fan of cordless vacuums (why didn’t any of you tell me?). The one I have isn’t currently available, but I’ve become such a cordless convert that I am thinking of investing in a second one. If you have one you like, please tell me in the comments.
I bought several rugs on Amazon this year, including this seagrass rug with a black border that we have in our entryway.
I also bought this Jute rug…
…and this jute with a navy border, both for the lake. Jute has become my favorite kind of natural fiber rug. It has all the benefits I like in a natural fiber…neutral, classic, inexpensive… but it’s softer than seagrass.
Speaking of the lake, I have these Cobalt-rimmed drinking glasses in two sizes there. I love how substantial they are.
We use these ramekins all the time and I’m sad to say that it’s mostly for snacking. They’re the perfect size for single servings of dips, nuts, chips, etc.
I recently shared with you how much I love these stackable shoe organizers. Tom is (not so) secretly wishing he had some too so I’ll probably be ordering more soon (they come in a larger size).
I love how pretty these outdoor string lights are. We also bought these command strips which were suggested to hang them with (they worked great) and this smart dimmer plug which lets us operate the lights from our phones or better yet, by telling Alexa to do it.
I wear this fleece hoodie all the time during the colder months. I have it in this stripe but am planning to order a couple of other colors/styles too.
These black and white PJs have also been a favorite (I’m wearing them as I type this). If black and white isn’t your thing they come in lots of great colors and they are very soft. (FYI they’re a lighter weight, which I love, but just a heads up in case you don’t.)
I’ve been singing the praises of this foot file and callus remover for a while now. (A word of caution, it works very well so go easy when you use it.) I particularly like it when paired with this foot mask.
Finally, I’ve mentioned both on here and on Instagram that anxiety is a pretty big problem for me. I’m happy to report that over the last year I’ve made significant progress where that’s concerned, despite it being a challenging year for a lot of reasons. One resource that has been particularly helpful to me is The Anxious Truth podcast and The Anxious Truth book, both by Drew Linsalata. Drew’s info isn’t necessarily new (he covers many of the things I learned in therapy) but he is the BEST at explaining it. Better than any therapist I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a few). He also walks that perfect line between accountability and encouragement, both of which are so important. I can’t say enough good things about him and his work.
P.S. My favorite books of 2020 and my Amazon shop.
Julie
Do use an area run in your kitchen?
Any recommendations would be appreciated ?

Ethel, I’ve had an indoor/outdoor runner from Ballard Designs between my cabinets and my island for years. They no longer carry mine but have several other patterns. I don’t have a rug under the table in my kitchen. Hope that helps!
Julie, I love your list, and have put a few of them on my shopping list, thank you. As for cordless vac – yes, I’m sold! My sister had one and I bought the same one. It’s this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FX7Z3NR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
It comes with 2 batteries but they each last a good long time. I have mostly wood floors, but it has a carpet button on it too.
I’ve debated and debated over jute, wondering how much it sheds. Please spill on that!
Happy new year to you.
Thank you for the recommendation, Rita! And I haven’t had any problems with my jute rugs shedding much at all. Hope that helps!
Anxiety is no fun. Glad you’ve made some progress. I’m going over to check out those pretty drinking glasses. Happy New Year, Julie!
