St. Louis by iPhone
Tom, Lindsey, and I headed to St. Louis last weekend to see Grant and to attend Family Weekend at Saint Louis University where he goes to school.
Friday also happened to be my birthday, and we headed out to dinner at Scape in the Central West End.
Tom and Lindsey chose the restaurant and they couldn’t have done a better job. The weather was perfect, so we asked to sit outside on the patio.
Because we had an early reservation, we took our time with drinks and appetizers, which included this cheese board.
I’m pretty taken with simple appetizer arrangements on boards like these. I’ve pinned several to my Pinterest appetizer board, including how-to’s like this and this.
The people watching included several tables of what seemed to be neighborhood regulars, like one couple who played cards while they waited for their meal. And my kids were impressed that dogs were welcome on the patio with their owners.
As the sun went down the lights came up. Very festive!
On Saturday we went with Grant’s fraternity to tour Busch Stadium.
The Cardinals are in the playoffs and we wish them well; they’ll definitely be our National League favorites. But the Kansas City Royals are in the playoffs for the first time in 29 years. 29 years, people! To say the city is excited would be a major understatement. Go Royals!
Finally, I snapped this picture of the Dolphin Fountain on SLU’s campus as we walked back from the Saturday night soccer game.
This is the last picture I took before I dropped my brand new iPhone 6 on the sidewalk and shattered the screen. But let’s not talk about that. Just what a great weekend it was! I hope yours was memorable too.
