Weekend Links

Happy Friday!

It’s a big weekend in Kansas City because our Chiefs are in the Super Bowl! It’s been 50 years since we were in the Super Bowl so it’s a BIG deal. The whole town is wearing red and everyone is happy and excited.

My family is watching the game at our house, as we’ve done for the last two playoff games. We’re all wearing the same clothes and sitting in the same spots in the family room so as not to jinx anything. Fingers crossed we get a win!

On Fridays, I often post links to things around the web I’ve found interesting or inspiring. Here are a few things I saved to share with you.

Author Mary Kay Andrews is doing a 2020 reading challenge, encouraging people to read from different genres. She’s recommending a book in twelve different categories, one for each month of the year.

I made this slower cooker vegetable beef soup this week and it was delicious. I reduced the stew meat to 1 lb. and added an extra can of tomatoes. I love that the recipe has beans in it, too.

This cottage makeover is one of my favorite home tours ever. I revisit it often. I love that they kept the footprint of the house the same instead of building on.

I hope you have a great weekend!

  3. What an exciting time to be a Kansas Citian! I was in fourth grade for the last Chiefs’ Super Bowl, so do the math! Thursday is a milestone birthday for me! I love your blog’s blend of home, travel, books, and life! Too many exclamation points, but it’s an excitable time

    1. Thanks for your nice words, Lori. I’m so glad you enjoy the blog. And Happy Birthday!
