Weekend Links
Happy Saturday! What are you up to this weekend? I’m re-reading this book (it’s been 20 years since I’ve read it) and I have two episodes of Little Fires Everywhere to catch up on.
Here are some things I found interesting or entertaining around the web and I saved them to share with you.
I’m a longtime fan of Brooke Gianetti and I’m loving the video tours she’s been doing on her IG feed of her California home Patina Farm. There are also videos of her feeding the animals which I find soothing to watch.

John Grisham doesn’t do book tours much anymore but in 2017 he made 19 appearances at independent book stores to promote his books Camino Island and Rooster Bar. In each city, Grisham invited another author (sometimes two or three authors) to appear with him and they just chatted about books and writing. The format totally worked because Grisham is smart, funny, and very good at leading conversations. The recordings became a podcast called Book Tour with John Grisham which I highly recommend. (Tom and I went to the Kansas City event with Candice Millard and I’ve listened to all the other episodes, some more than once.)

Have you been using Zoom lately? I’d never used it before a few weeks ago and now I’m on it regularly for book club meetings and virtual happy hours, so 8 great libraries for your Zoom background caught my eye. I love that the Kansas City Public Library’s great parking garage is included here.
Gary Gulman On How The States Got Their Abbreviations. I promise this will make you laugh.
Have a wonderful weekend!
